Dr Jane Miskovic-Wheatley

Project Lead

Dr Jane Miskovic-Wheatley (BSc, Psych Hons 1, MSc, DCP) is a clinical psychologist and researcher with over 20 years experience working across several different research projects and sites, all focused on improving the lives of people with a lived or living experience of eating disorders. She is the Research & Translation Lead for the InsideOut Institute, University of Sydney, leading or contributing to over 20 innovative research projects including trials funded by the Federal Government, NMHRC, MRFF, TRGS and NSW Department of Health, across several different methodologies from health data administration to community surveys, clinical trials to qualitative research, and she is building her experience in co-design principals and practices. For Mainstream she is a core investigator, co-project manager and lead on livED, the Lived Experience Lifetime Survey (strategy 2) as part of her PhD candidature.

As a clinical psychologist, she is an industry leader in providing clinical care, community education, supervision, resources, and advocacy for mental health care within the performing and creative arts industry and provides services for Michael Cassel Group, Bell Shakespeare, CDP, Griffin Theatre, Ensemble Theatre, Darlinghurst Theatre, Performing Lines, the Arts Wellbeing Collective and Arts on Tour NSW.

Prof Sarah Maguire

Supervisor

Associate Professor Sarah Maguire (BScPsych Hons, MA, DCP, PhD) is a clinical psychologist, researcher, educator, and policy maker with 20 years' experience in the field of eating disorders. A/Professor Maguire has worked in hospital and community settings, supervised clinical teams and trainees, is a specialist clinical trainer and board approved supervisor. She was awarded her PhD in 2009, received the AH Martin Prize for outstanding doctoral student during her tenure, and completed her post-doctoral training at the University of Chicago. She is a senior advisor to NSW Ministry of Health and her institute leads the implementation of NSW Health Policy as it relates to eating disorders across the state including large scale health system reform under the NSW Service Plan for Eating Disorders 2021-2025. She sits on national level committees for health service reform including the Medicare working group for eating disorders.

At the InsideOut Institute she leads a research team with a broad research agenda, including biological, health systems, health economics, prevention, public health promotion, clinical intervention, and translational research. She is the Chief Investigator on projects totalling over $19 million in competitive research funding in the last 3 years, including $13 million for the National Research & Translation Centre in Eating Disorders and has over 60 peer-reviewed publications.

Sabina Vatter

Dr Sabina Vatter

Research Officer

Dr Sabina Vatter (PhD) is a Research Officer at the InsideOut Institute for Eating Disorders working on a number of research projects. Sabina holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Manchester, UK, where she explored the impact of Parkinson’s dementia on care partners. She also has a Master’s and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Tallinn University, Estonia.

Sabina has over 9 years of experience in Clinical Psychology research. Her special interests include body image, eating disorders, mental health, informal care partnerships, intimate relationships, and trialling psychosocial interventions to improve outcomes for people with lived experiences of eating disorders. She is passionate about improving health, quality of life and well-being across the lifespan within diverse health conditions, particularly in mental health and eating disorders.

Daniel Rogers

Digital Lead

Daniel is Digital Innovations Lead at InsideOut Institute, a role which involves a wide range of projects including building our eTherapy platform, extending our eClinic, overseeing our online training platform, and assisting on research projects with a technical component. He is passionate about using technology to improve the availability, efficacy and ease access to life-changing therapy.

Dr Patrick Eades

Developer

Patrick is a developer at InsideOut. He has a research background in computer science and has worked on a range of web applications with InsideOut, including our online training platform, eClinic and the Australian Eating Disorders Research and Translation Hub.
